Blanc Participations, an investment firm known for supporting innovation, made a significant investment in BCdiploma during its initial funding round. BCdiploma, a French company established in 2017, specializes in certifying digitized documents on the blockchain, known as Digital Credentials. Founding and Early Development:
BCdiploma was founded as a simplified joint-stock company (SAS) in November 2017 by Luc Jarry-Lacombe and Vincent Langard. The company’s primary focus was the digitization and digital certification of diplomas, utilizing blockchain technology and smart contracts. In January 2018, BCdiploma conducted a successful token sale, raising 1,800 ETH through the issuance of ERC20 tokens called BCDT. This initial funding round allowed BCdiploma to advance its research and development efforts.

The company became the technical operator of the French governmental project Fr.EBSI, tasked with deploying European EBSI and ESSIF academic Verifiable Credentials. BCdiploma also filed its second patent in France, focusing on extending its technology to sensitive data registers in sovereign cloud environments. Moreover, BCdiploma was selected as a winner of the i-Nov innovation competition organized by the French government. Their R&D project, « Verifiable Credentials by BCdiploma, » aimed to significantly reduce the energy costs associated with blockchain data issuance.
